I got my hair did

If you don't know me in real life, then you will not realize how much hair I got cut off today. I hadn't had my hair cut in over a year. This picture doesn't really do the 'do justice. The back is super short, and the front longer. It's like a reverse mullet. I love it!

I Need Your Best Appetizer Recipes!

Every year, the Irish side of my family does a float in the Cincinnati St. Patrick's Day parade. It's basically just a great excuse to get together and have a big party. We are actually getting pretty good at decorating our float and won "Most Spirited Float" last year!

One thing my family loves to do is EAT. Each year we have a cook-off, and basically everyone makes something, we taken an anonymous vote, and then a handmade trophy is given to the winner. It's a really fun thing we all love to do.

This year the theme is appetizers. I need your absolute BEST appetizer recipes. My family does not make ordinary food. In addition to eating we love to cook. I am competing with much more experienced cooks and so 2nd best will just not work.


Just to give you an idea, last year the theme was dessert. I made a FROM SCRATCH authentic key lime pie, with real key lime juice and key limes and I LOST. Can you believe it? I even made the whipped cream from scratch. Do you know how hard it is to zest a key lime? Those things are tiny and slippery. They were literally flying all over my kitchen.

My aunt, the master chef/baker, and caterer to local celebrities like Bootsy Collins and Peter Frampton, of course is in the running. She makes things like this:
